Nottingham Autumn Head

County athletes were out in force yesterday in the wet conditions on the Trent. The club came away with four wins and some amazing first race performances.

Winners:-
Elise J161x 🥇
Ebony Band 4 1x 🥇
Oliver J J14 1x 🥇
Elise, Evie R, Martha, Hannah J16 4x 🥇

Perhaps the performance of the day came from Jack in J15 1x were he was only 1’21”behind the winner of the short course 1,900m despite falling in, a truly incredible achievement ably supported by Alex on the bike. Arlo, rowing for Derwent in the same event, achieved second place, only 5” behind the winner McKenzie from Northampton. It was also good to see Oliver P racing for the first time in green.

Another great performance came from Hannah, racing her single for the first time in J16 and coming third, only 16” behind Elise who continues her winning ways. Elise’s time of 25:18 would have placed 3rd in J17 behind Knight and Hardman of Notts & Union. Ava came in 4th in the 17’s, Lulu 8th.

In J16 1x Felix had a good row coming 6th, some 21” behind Findlay from Notts & Union in 3rd place. Alex came 10th.

Ebony won Band 4 1x by 12’ from Duffy of Leicester with Ryanna placing 3rd.

The J16 girls then combined in the quad for the second division and had a good row winning convincingly. Their time of 13:49 was only 13’ behind Yarm in 3rd place in the J18 category, who were behind two strong Wycliffe Junior Crews.

Our Band 1 4x containing Lulu, Ava, Ryanna and Ebony came together on the day and came 4th.

Eva and Aoife racing up a year in J15 2x Div 2, came 3rd behind 2nd place Derby by only 4” and the winners Notts & Union by 6”, some close racing.

Oliver J won J14 1x by over 30’ from Rupp of Trent and would have placed 5th in J15.

Finally, Steve racing for time only, was the fastest Masters H.

Thanks to our coaches, parents, sponsors and supporters, including Oarsport, for a great day (and particularly Alex for his support on the bike).

💚
